Shibuya Station

Last night I went to Shibuya Station on the subway with the people who I am going to Kyoto with. We had to go get our rail passes and reservations, so we made a night out of it! After we got our business taken care of, we looked for somewhere to eat. This was not difficult, because this is the heart of Tokyo; the busiest intersection in the whole city!

We narrowed down our search by looking for a place with either pictures on the menu or some English. We found a resturant that looked promising, and went in. We were sent upstairs, where we were the ONLY females! Everyone else was business men eating dinner before they went home for the night. And guess what? No pictures and VERY little English after all. But we managed to figure it out and the food was awesome! I had an eel rice bowl (rice bowls are almost every meal, it seems) and, of course, miso soup. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the meal before I ate it. Sorry!

After we ate, we wondered around for a while, just looking at the sheer numbers of people. Every time the light would change, it seemed like a thousand people (it really might have been!) crossed the street! And everyone is so beautiful! The young people dress so cool, and their hair is awesome. I just want to pack some of them up and bring them home!

That sounds yummy, I (sometimes) like fish, and I like rice, which happens to be the root of about every food. It seems like foreign countries really like to lie to tourists, because we've been lied to every time we travel out of the country. :( Oh well. at least there was some English writing. Try more different things, my mom says everyone should "expand their horizons."

Hi Matt, I don't think I was lied to, it's just really hard when you don't speak the language. As a matter of fact, everyone here has been very kind and helpful. Last night, we kind of got lost, and we asked a policeman for help, but he didn't speak any English. A gentleman came by and offered his services, and walked us to where we could find our way!
